TORONTO - Less than 15 minutes after the Phillies wrapped up a quick, two-game series at Rogers Centre, Cole Hamels walked by a group of reporters in the visiting clubhouse. Asked whether he had a minute to talk, the 31-year-old pitcher declined.
He was headed to his locker, where he spent the next few seconds scrolling through his phone. And less than a minute later - just like that - he was gone.
Hamels is headed to Arlington, Texas, where he'll take his World Series MVP arm and no-hit pedigree to spend the last third of his career with the Rangers.
