Phillies Rhys Hoskins exits game after foul ball to face in ugly loss to Dodgers

After allowing the Los Angeles Dodgers to comeback in the bottom of the eighth inning Monday night, the Phillies saw one of their young stars go down with a scary injury.

Left fielder Rhys Hoskins fouled a Kenley Jansen 1-2 pitch off his face in the top of the ninth with two out. The 25-year-old Hoskins immediately went to the dirt and was down holding his mouth.

Phillies manager Gabe Kapler and a team trainer lept out of the dugout immediately and helped Hoskins off the field with a towel on his face.

Here’s a replay of one of the oddest foul ball injuries you’ll see in a game.
