The Philadelphia Phillies unveiled their 2022 Opening Day roster Thursday morning, and it includes infielder Bryson Stott.
Stott — who hit .406 in 32 Spring Training at-bats — will wear No. 5, and is part of a 28-man roster that the Phillies will bring to Citizens Bank Park Friday when they begin the season by hosting the Oakland Athletics:
As Phillies Nation‘s Destiny Lugardo noted above, the Phillies created a 40-man roster spot for Stott by recalling catcher Rafael Marchan and then placing him on the 60-day injured list. Left-handed relievers JoJo Romero (still recovering from Tommy John surgery in May of 2021) and Kent Emmanuel (dealing with a left elbow impingement) were already on the 60-day injured list.
