— Right-hander Dustin McGowan has been called up from the Lehigh Valley IronPigs by the Philadelphia Phillies to take the spot vacated when they sent left-hander Jake Diekman back to the Pigs after Thursday night's game.
McGowan has pitched 71/3 scoreless innings for Lehigh Valley since being outrighted on May 15th.
Acquired as a free agent in February after a career with the Toronto Blue Jays that began 10 years ago, McGowan went 101 with a 5.79 ERA with the Phillies before they sent him to the Pigs. In 168 career games in the majors, he is 26-28 with a 4.
