ST. LOUIS — Hours before the Phillies open up their much anticipated return to the playoffs against the St. Louis Cardinals, the team released its roster for the Wild Card series:
Among the highlights:
- Edmundo Sosa (right hamstring strain) is on the roster. He participated in the Phillies’ pre-series workout on Thursday and the club said they will make an evaluation after the fact.
- Brad Hand (left elbow tendinitis) is one of the team’s 13 pitchers. Rob Thomson said Thursday “I would think he’s ready.
