The Phillies have made a signing on the last day of the Winter Meetings in San Diego.
On Thursday, they re-signed seven-year veteran infielder Phil Gosselin to a minor-league deal with an invitation to major-league spring training, according to NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Jim Salisbury.
The West Chester native played in just 44 games this past season, his first for his hometown team. Gosselin, a career .263/.312/.355 hitter, slashed .262/.294/.308 in red pinstripes with three doubles, no home runs, seven RBI, three walks and 16 strikeouts spanning 68 plate appearances. He collected 17 hits in 65 at-bats, and went 10-for-32 as a pinch-hitter.
