Phillies Prospects Throw No-Hitter for Class A Lakewood

Nick Fanti and Trevor Bettencourt are unranked on the Phillies top 30 prospects list, but their efforts on Saturday night will certainly garner much attention.

Twenty-year-old Nick Fanti took the mound for the Lakewood BlueClaws for the fifth time this season. He’s coming off his worst start of the season, allowing three runs in six innings of work, which is far from shabby for a Single-A prospect.

After 8 2/3 innings with a career-high nine strikeouts the lefty was pulled from a no-hitter, leaving the final out for his roommate. Trevor Bettencourt came in and blew away the final batter, recording Lakewood’s first no-hitter since 2013.
