The Phillies will go for their ninth consecutive victory without one of their best hitters.
The team announced before Tuesday’s game that first baseman Rhys Hoskins was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain. The move is retroactive to Aug. 7, meaning he can return as early as Aug. 17. In a corresponding move, the Phillies recalled outfielder Mickey Moniak from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Hoskins last played on Aug. 5 against the Nationals.
