The Philadelphia Phillies placed reliever Jeanmar Gomez on the 10-day disabled list with a right elbow impingement (retroactive to Saturday) and recalled utility man Ty Kelly from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take his place on the 25-man roster, the club announced Tuesday.
The club also confirmed right-hander Aaron Nola will make a rehab start Wednesday for Lehigh Valley as he works his way back from back spasms that landed him on the 10-day DL. The 23-year-old has not pitched in a game since April 20, when he allowed four runs in five innings in a win over the Mets.
