The Phillies will learn more on Monday about the tear in Clay Buchholz’ right forearm. At the very least, the pitcher will miss a few starts after he meets with Dr. James Andrews.
Buchholz’ next scheduled start is Tuesday against the Mets. The Phillies could skip his start and not fill his spot until April 22. The Phillies, fortunately, have a few options at triple A to replace Buchholz. Here’s a look:
Nick Pivetta - The 24-year-old had a strong showing in major-league spring training and is one of the likeliest options to replace Buchholz.
