To say this year’s Opening Day was the most exciting for Phillies fans in years is an understatement. After a grueling but extremely productive offseason landed the team their golden goose and other big upgrades, fan engagement is the highest since the club’s run of division championships at the turn of the decade.
Therefore, it was no surprise that fans showed up in droves to the first game of the season. The club got a sold-out crowd of 44,469, just 17 fans short of last year’s home opener. The crowd was electric with (almost) everyone welcoming Bryce Harper with open arms.
