As Major League Baseball’s lockout continues, Phillies Nation will look back at one of the greatest players in franchise history in January, celebrating Ryan Howard Month.
A fifth-round pick out of Missouri State University, Howard spent his entire 13-season career with the Phillies. During his time with the Phillies, Howard won the 2005 National League Rookie of the Year Award, 2006 Home Run Derby, 2006 National League MVP Award and made three All-Star teams.
Of course, the most important accomplishment that Howard had as a Phillie was helping the organization to win their second World Series title in 2008.
