When the Phillies return home to Philadelphia for a weekend homestand against the Washington Nationals on June 4, they’ll play in front of their largest home crowd of the season. The team announced Friday that Citizens Bank Park will once again operate at full capacity starting June 4.
The move comes after Philadelphia city officials announced a plan to lift most COVID-19 restrictions on June 2. Sports stadiums located in the city will no longer operate under capacity limits. The original target date for the rollback on restrictions was June 11, with the Phillies welcoming a full crowd for its home series against the New York Yankees starting June 12.
