Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone; hopefully everyone had a great day yesterday.
Some quick news:
- As reported Wednesday, the Phillies traded Jimmy Cordero to the Washington Nationals. Cordero just wasn’t able to stick on the 40-man roster (too many questions for a still pretty low-value position to the Phillies), so a waiver claim and deal was made.
- Meanwhile, the Phils released David Buchanan, the longtime fringe starter in the organization.
Buchanan went 6-8 with a 3.75 ERA in 2014, sparking some debate about his potential as back-end starter.
