Here’s how the Phillies’ minor-league teams fared on Wednesday, Aug. 26:
Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A
Lehigh Valley scored the first two runs but could not hang on in a 4-2 loss to Buffalo.
Chase d’Arnaud and Gabriel Lino drove home runs in the bottom of the second inning, but that was all the offense the IronPigs could muster. They did have nine hits, but Buffalo’s pitching staff scattered them and stranded nine runners on base.
A good start from Anthony Vasquez was wasted by a lack of run support. He went 6 2/3 innings and gave up three runs, just two earned.
