Here’s how the Phillies’ minor league teams fared on Wednesday, Aug. 12:
Lehigh Valley IronPigs (53-65) – Triple A
For the second night in a row, the IronPigs ran into the buzz saw known as the Syracuse Chiefs and things didn’t end well, as they lost by a score of 9-5 at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse, N.Y.
For the Chiefs, the victory was their ninth in a row.
The most prominent victim of the Chiefs was starting pitcher Anthony Vasquez (3-2, 4.45 ERA), as he was lit up for seven runs, including five in one frame, on eight hits in only 3 2/3 innings.
