Here’s how the Phillies’ minor league teams fared on Tuesday, Aug. 4:
Lehigh Valley IronPigs (50-61) – Triple A
The arms the Phillies acquired from the Rangers have paid immediate dividends for the minor league clubs.
For the IronPigs, it was Jerad Eickoff, as he put together six strong innings during a 5-1 victory over the Toledo Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Ohio.
Eickhoff (1-0, 1.50 ERA) earned a win in his Lehigh Valley debut after he struck out seven batters and allowed only one run on six hits.
Dustin McGowan picked up his eighth save of the season to secure the win for the IronPigs.
