Phillies Minor League Report: Altherr homers in Lehigh Valley loss

Here’s how the Phillies’ minor league teams fared on Thursday, July 23:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

Though they fought valiantly, the IronPigs could not overcome giving up four runs in the top of the eighth inning, eventually falling to Toledo 7-6. Lehigh gave up four runs in a 3-3 ballgame, but scored three of their own in the bottom of the ninth, but the rally fell just short.

Aaron Altherr hit his fourth home run of the year, a solo shot, on a night when he went 2-for-4. Jordan Danks came in the pinch hit in the bottom of the ninth and came through with a two RBI double that pulled the IronPigs within striking distance.
