Howie Kendrick is back as the number two hitter for the Phillies after suffering an oblique strain early in the season. With the left fielder back in action the Phillies will bench center fielder Odubel Herrera, whose batting average has dipped down to .217 this year.
Jeremy Hellickson also takes the mound on the seventh anniversary of Roy Halladay’s perfect game against the Marlins. While a perfect game might be slightly too much to ask for from Hellickson, the Phillies are hoping for a quality outing from their starter.
