September roster expansion is here....and so is Jose Alvarado!
Following tonight’s game, the Phillies reinstated LHP José Alvarado from the restricted list. To make room for him on the 26-man roster, RHP Yunior Marte was optioned to Lehigh Valley (AAA).

Jose Alvarado had something to deal with back home in Venezuela, something he is understandably not willing to divulge and is now back with the team. Sometimes, we have to remember that perceived struggles on the field might have a root cause. We cannot know if what was happening with Alvarado back in his home country was the issue, but it had to have been weighing his mind.
