CINCINNATI -- The Phillies just made a significant upgrade to their offense before Tuesday's non-waiver Trade Deadline.
A source told MLB.com on Friday evening that the Phillies have acquired infielder Asdrubal Cabrera from the Mets for Double-A Reading right-hander Franklyn Kilome, who is the organization's No. 10 prospect. Cabrera will provide more power to a Phillies' lineup. He could move around the infield, having an ability to play second base, third base and shortstop. He has played only second base this season, but he played 45 games at shortstop in 2017 and 135 games there in '16.
