Phillies: Justin Bour and Luis Avilan non-tendered

The Phillies have opted not to tender contracts to Justin Bour and Luis Avilan, both of whom were acquired last summer in trades.

Bour was waived early in the offseason, so the decision to not tender him a contract was already known. The first baseman was thought to be a solid power bat off the bench last year but hit just one home run for Philadelphia and dealt with an oblique injury

Philadelphia sent pitching prospect McKenzie Mills to Miami for Bour in August. He didn’t have a long-term role with the team given the success of Rhys Hoskins and contract of Carlos Santana at first base.
