Phillies History at the ESPY Awards: Doc Wins Big

While the Phillies are not represented in this years ESPY awards, they do have a history in the event.

In 2011, Roy Halladay walked away with not one, but two ESPYs following his historically dominant season the previous year. Doc won the “Best Moment ESPY” for his post-season no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds, and the “Best Major League Baseball Player,” despite finishing second in the Cy Young and ninth in the MVP voting.

In his second season with the Phillies since being traded by the Toronto Blue Jays, Halladay threw a perfect game against the Miami Marlins, and a post-season no-hitter.
