Since he was called up from triple-A Lehigh Valley and played his first game this season with the Phillies on May 15, third baseman Maikel Franco hasn't had a break until this week.
Franco, who turns 23 on Aug. 26, had started 55 consecutive games with the Phillies, and while he wants to play every day, the recent all-star break was welcomed.
Franco said he stayed around the Philadelphia area with his family.
"I just used the time to relax and rest," Franco said before Friday's game against the Miami Marlins at Citizens Bank Park, where he was once again in the starting lineup.
