Phillies Former Manager Dallas Green Passes Away at 82

While his time in Philadelphia was brief Dallas Green entered our hearts as never truly left. Wednesday the collective hearts in the city of Brotherly Love broke with the news of Green’s passing at the age of 82.

In his first full season as the skipper in Philadelphia Green won 91 game, and led a star-studded team to the organization’s first World Championship.

Inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame in 2006, Green was the first manager to receive the prestigious honor. Since then, only Charlie Manuel has been inducted onto the Wall primarily as a manager, while Larry Bowa is on the wall mostly as a great player.
