Jim Bowden of the Athletic (subscription required) released his post-trade deadline rankings Wednesday. He ranked the Phillies No. 9 overall on his list, giving the system a B+ grade.
Bowden said he evaluated systems both on their top prospects as well as their depth, giving more weight to the top prospects than anything else. This is because those top prospects are the most likely ones to help their organization win a championship, noting the last few World Series champions.
Philadelphia had the second-best farm in the NL East. The Braves ranked second, Nationals ranked 16th, Marlins ranked 24th, and Mets ranked 26th.
