John Kruk said it best during the broadcast. The differences between the last-place Phillies and the first-place Brewers were glaring in the second-half opener in Milwaukee.
Things looked good out the jump for the Phils after their first four hitters reached base. The troubles that plagued them through the first 87 games resurged, however, and they only managed to squeeze out two runs.
Still, they gave Nick Pivetta an early lead and he followed that up by striking out the side in the bottom half of the first.
Just as the Phils did in the first inning, the Brewers got four guys on base in the second.
