PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies sustained a crushing 7-6 loss to the Nationals in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader at Citizens Bank Park.
The loss just might have sunk their season. Phillies relievers Seranthony Dominguez and Luis Garcia blew a three-run lead in the ninth inning only to watch Juan Soto crush a solo home run off teammate Yacksel Rios to left-center field in the 10th. The loss drops the Phillies 6 1/2 games behind the Braves in the National League East. The Phillies have 18 games remaining in their season.
