Phillies end grueling June with win vs. Nats

PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies lost Vince Velasquez after just two innings, but the bullpen stymied the Nationals in a 3-2 victory Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park.

Velasquez left the game after the second inning when he suffered a bruised right forearm after Adam Eaton hit a line drive off his arm. Odubel Herrera homered in the third inning to tie the game. Jesmuel Valentin, Jorge Alfaro and Aaron Altherr hit three consecutive two-out doubles in the fourth inning to hand the Phillies a two-run lead.
