Phillies comeback against Mariners falls short

Final Score: Mariners 5, Phillies 4

The Phillies were plagued by defensive mistakes and their bats couldn’t bail them out in a 5-4 loss to the Seattle Mariners. Philadelphia hit the ball out of the yard three times, but they couldn’t get runners on to make the home runs count.

Although Aaron Nola executed his pitches, he gave up a leadoff single to Adam Frazier, a double to Ty France, a bloop RBI single to Eugenio Suarez, and an infield RBI single to Julio Rodríguez to start off the game. Two runs came around to score in the first inning.
