Another week, another waiver claim for a left-handed pitcher by the Phillies.
The team announced Wednesday that they claimed starter Scott Moss, who was previously designated for assignment by the Cleveland Guardians.
The Phillies claimed lefty reliever Kent Emmanuel off waivers from the Houston Astros last Friday, also adding minor leaguers Jhailyn Ortiz, James McArthur and Luis García to the 40-man roster. They also traded for Yankees reliever Nick Nelson and minor-league catcher Donny Sands that day, as well as Astros catcher Garrett Stubbs.
Moss, the latest roster addition, struggled in just nine Triple-A appearances in 2021, but has found success throughout his career as a minor-league starter.
