Phillies blow late lead to lose 5-4

The Phils were looking to build off last night’s 1-0 thriller with the Arizona Diamondbacks coming to town for Father’s Day weekend. The D-Backs struck first off Phillies’ starter Aaron Nola in the fourth inning after Daniel Descalso hit an RBI groundout and Jeff Mathis singled to center make the score 2-0. The Phils would score four unanswered, with Maikel Franco putting the Phils in front 4-2 with a two-RBI double to left center in the sixth. Nola would relinquish the lead immediately in the next half inning by allowing a Gregor Blanco two-run home run and a Jake Lamb sacrifice fly, as it proved to be the difference in a 5-4 D-Backs win.
