Phillies announce first round of roster cuts

The Phillies announced their first roster cuts of the Spring, moving six pitchers in all to Triple-A and Double-A camps, the team announced Saturday.

JoJo Romero, Adonis Medina, and Cristopher Sanchez, who are members of the 40-man roster, were officially optioned off of the active MLB roster and placed onto minor league teams; Romero to the IronPigs, Medina and Sanchez to the Fighin’ Phils. Kyle Dohy, Damon Jones, and Zach Warren were all non-roster invitees who are not yet on the 40-man, so their placement is simply a reassignment to minor league camp with team assignments still TBA.
