Phillies add Chris Coghlan on minor league deal

The Philadelphia Phillies announced the signing of former Chicago Cubs outfielder Chris Coghlan to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training on Friday.

Coghlan played for the Cubs in 2014 and 2015 before being traded to the Oakland Athletics prior to the 2016 season. He was traded back to the Cubs in June, hitting .188 with six homers and 30 RBIs between the two teams.

In 2015, Coghlan hit .250 with 16 homers and 41 RBIs in 148 games for Chicago.
