The Phillies have acquired left-handed reliever Jose Alvarado from the Rays.
The Philadelphia Phillies have made their first trade of the offseason under new team president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski and general manager Sam Fuld. The team announced Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired left-handed reliever Jose Alvarado from the Tampa Bay Rays as part of a three-way trade, also with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Phillies sent fellow southpaw Garrett Cleavinger to the 2020 World Series champions, who in turn sent infielder Dillon Paulson and a player to be named later to the Rays.
