Phillies: Aaron Nola named to first MLB All-Star team

Aaron Nola will be the Phillies sole representative at the 89th MLB All-Star game in Washington D.C. Rhys Hoskins, Odubel Herrera, and Seranthony Dominguez could be named alternates if an injury occurs to one of the starters or reserves.

The Phillies haven’t had multiple All-Stars since 2013 when Cliff Lee and Domonic Brown represented the team

Last year reliever Pat Neshek was the Phillies lone All-Star, while Herrera, Jonathan Papelbon, and Chase Utley preceded them.

Nola was certainly deserving of the All-Star selection as he leads the entire league with 11 wins going into his start on Monday.
