During this offseason, I’ll be taking a close look into the Phillies’ bullpen candidates for 2016. We began last month with an in-depth look at lefty Elvis Araujo, and this time around it will be righty Hinojosa coming under scrutiny.
Hinojosa originally signed with the Boston Red Sox as a Cuban defector back in 2013. He had pitched as a starter for the most part in the Cuban Serie Nacional since breaking in as an 18-year old back in 2005.
Hinojosa had just one MLB outing on his resume, an inning and two-thirds back in May against the Yankees in which he struck out two and walked three, when the Phillies claimed him off waivers from Boston on July 15th.
