Set to make his MLB debut, Suarez will become the first lefty starter for the Phillies since Adam Morgan on Sept. 28, 2016. In three starts since being promoted from Double-A Reading to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Suarez, 22, has allowed just one run.
Mahle gave up six runs on eight hits with three walks and three K's in 5 2/3 frames his last time out vs. the Bucs in a four-run 6th that proved to be his demise. The 6th has been a thorn in Mahle's side as he owns a 9.31 ERA in that frame this year.
