PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Phillies manager Pete Mackanin hasn’t yet been told he’ll be back in 2018.
Mackanin signed an extension through the 2018 season back in May, but admits he’s a bit uncertain about his future with the club.
“I assume I’ll be back here,” Mackanin told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Wednesday. “[General manager] Matt [Klentak] and I get along fine, but he hasn’t said directly that, ‘You’re definitely coming back,’ nor have the coaches been told anything. So, this is a funny business, you never know.
