Papelbon suspended by MLB, but will appeal

And boom goes the dynamite.

After hitting Manny Machado with a pitch near the head Wednesday night, Jonathan Papelbon has been punished with a three game suspension by Major League Baseball. The 34-year-old will, however, appeal the suspension, making him available to pitch during this weekend’s series against the Phillies.
