You have to hand it to Jake Arrieta. When he’s off, he’s really off. There is not in between. He’s either going to give you a solid 5-6 innings where the other team is just beating the ball into the ground right at the fielders, or he’s giving up a ton of hits, getting balls that he leaves up hammered.
