The Reading Fightins offense that dominated the Bowie BaySox in Game Four of the Eastern League championship were on the wrong end of a 9-1 beat down in Game Five.
Reading could only summon four hits against Bowie pitching, which featured starter David Hess going seven innings and doing no damage to his sparkling 0.64 ERA. Dylan Cozens supplied half the Fightins' offense with a pair of singles, and Nick Williams contributed with a single in the first inning. Outside of that, and KC Serna's single, Reading mustered very little, going 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position. Cameron Perkins scored the team's sole run on a wild pitch.
