Offense, Nola’s gem extend Phillies’ win streak to six

Final Score: Phillies 10, Brewers 0

The Philadelphia Phillies were built to succeed behind two winning ingredients: high-powered offense and strong starting pitcher. Interim manager Rob Thomson’s club had both rolling on Wednesday night at American Family Field.

Right-hander Aaron Nola tossed eight shutout innings while the team’s lineup used four home runs to help power Philadelphia to a 10-0 victory over the Brewers, their fifth in a row. The Phillies (27-29) are now 5-0 since former bench coach “Topper” took over for Joe Girardi.

After pulling out comeback wins in its last two games, Bryson Stott set the tone in this one, hitting a two-run home run in the top of the third to put the Phillies up 2-0.
