Some late game heroics from the much maligned bottom of the order salvaged a game and a series that looked to be lost as the Philadelphia Phillies came back to defeat the Los Angeles Angels 7-5 on Tuesday night.
Kyle Schwarber opened the scoring in the top of the second inning with a three-run no-doubter homer off Angels’ starter, Tyler Anderson, following a Nick Castellanos single and a four-pitch walk issued to Bryson Stott.

Spencer Turnbull worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the first, then got into a mini-jam in the second after plunking Angels’ second baseman, Brandon Drury, and allowing a single to third baseman, Luis Rengifo, to lead off the frame.
