PHILADELPHIA -- Phillies ace Aaron Nola is taking his game to another level.
He dominated the Giants on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park, striking out a career-high 12 batters in seven innings. He had allowed just one run on five hits. Nola, who earlier in the season seemed to be pitching to contact, racked up a career-high 26 swings and misses on 109 pitches through seven innings.
No Phillies starter has had more swings and misses in a game since Vince Velasquez had 27 in his 16-strikeout shutout against the Padres on April 14, 2016.
