NEW YORK -- This is why Aaron Nola is an All-Star.
He earned a split of Monday's doubleheader against the Mets at Citi Field, not only with a masterful pitching performance in a 3-1 victory, but also drove in all the Phillies' runs.
Nola allowed one hit and one walk and struck out 10 in seven scoreless innings to improve to 12-2, the first pitcher in the National League to reach 12 wins, with a 2.27 ERA. He also smacked a two-out double with the bases loaded in the fifth inning to score three runs.
