It has not been a good start to the season for Nick Castellanos. He does not have an extra base hit, let alone a home run. He’s hitting .182 with a .444 OPS through 15 games. But for one afternoon, Nick Castellanos was the hero.
The Phillies right fielder walked it off with a base hit to center field on one of his best swings of the season, scoring Whit Merrifield from third and giving Philadelphia a much-needed 4-3 win. The heroics capped off a strong day overall from Castellanos, who earlier singled to give the Phillies a 2-1 lead in the first and made a terrific leaping grab at the wall for the first out in the third inning.
