I do remember my first Phillies game, I was in 6th grade, and was a member of the “Safety Patrol”, and the school took all the Safety Patrol members to the Phillies game via a school bus.
This was probably around 1967 or 1968, and the Phillies played the St. Louis Cardinals at Connie Mack Stadium. Roger Maris was playing for the Cardinals at that time, although he was past his prime.
We were out in Left Field seats, and it was a nice Saturday afternoon for a game. Unfortunately, the Phillies lost to the Cardinals, but it was such a thrill to attend my first major league baseball game.
