A 9-5 final marked the New York Mets' first four-game sweep of the Phillies in Philadelphia since September 2002.
The series finale took 13 innings to decide. In the end, the Mets maintained their 61/2 game lead atop the National League East standings over the Washington Nationals. Four runs in the top of the 13th were more than enough. Three earned runs were charged to Hector Neris, who also accounted for one of three Phillies errors in the frame.
The Mets belted three more home runs in the game, each off starter Aaron Harang, giving them 13 for the series, a franchise record.
