NEW YORK - The perception of Matt Harvey has changed some since the Dark Knight made his return to an electric Citi Field for the April 14 New York Mets win over the Phillies.
First there was the innings limit stir last month created by the pitcher's agent, Scott Boras, who publicly asserted that the Mets star should not exceed 180 innings this season, his first since undergoing Tommy John surgery. (That controversy has since subsided, with Harvey set to go full tilt in his postseason starts.)
Then, just last week, Harvey showed up late for a team workout.
